Castine Golf Club features 4 har-tru tennis courts with daily junior and adult clinics and private lessons are offered for members and non-members. 

Courts are available from mid-June to early October, as weather allows.

Castine’s Tennis Program and Instruction
The Castine Tennis program has been a mainstay summer activity since the original tennis courts were built at the original Castine Golf Club in the late nineteenth century. Since then, members young and old alike have participated in lessons and clinics offered daily from mid-June until mid-September.

Non-members are invited to enjoy the club facilities, clinics, and lessons at a limit of five times during the season. Clinics are available for all ages and skill levels. Private and semi-private lessons can be arranged daily.

There is no required dress code, although proper tennis attire and appropriate footwear is required. Court and clinic reservations, and private lessons can be made in person or by calling the tennis shop at 207-326-8844.

Rodney Ross, Director of Racquet Sports, boasts a long and respected coaching career spanning from beginner level play to nationally ranked talent. Rodney has elevated the level of play at the Club since his arrival in 2018. He brings to Castine over 20 years of experience, directing programs at resorts in Anguilla, Martha’s Vineyard and Private Clubs in the Boston suburbs. 

Ross was a member of the 2000 Davis Cup Team in his homeland of Trinidad and Tobago as well as ranking as the country’s #5 Junior Boys under 16 division. In 2021 he was selected as the Davis Cup Captain for the Trinidad and Tobago National Tennis Team. His coaching style and enthusiasm on the court attracts players from ages 4 to 99 .

Tennis Pro Shop
The Castine tennis shack is located opposite Court No. 2. Tennis rackets, tennis balls, and racket rentals are available at the shop, as well tennis, liesure wear, and refreshments.

Conditions of Play
All players must sign in at the tennis shop prior to play.

All players must sweep courts and brush lines after play.

All fees must be paid at the tennis shop either before or after play or at the golf shop if tennis staff is not available. The junior and adult Club Championship tournaments are limited to members in good standing.
