Annual Tournaments

GHIN handicaps are required for all members in order to play in weekly events and tournaments.

Men’s Blair Cup – July 1 – July 31

Format: a player records four net 9-hole rounds to be played at his convenience throughout the month. Must be playing with one member when playing the round. The players with the lowest total for the four rounds will be the Blair Cup champion.

$20.00 entry fee

 

Men’s Four Ball – July 1 – July 31

Matches are scheduled throughout the month.

Format: two people will play as partners vs. two competitors in a 9-hole match using 100% of each player’s handicap with the winning team moving to the next round.

$20.00 entry fee.

 

Ladies Four Ball – July 1 – July 31

Matches are scheduled throughout the month.

Format: two ladies will play as partners vs. two competitors in a 9-hole match using 100% of each player’s handicap with the winning team moving to the next round.

$20.00 entry fee.

 

Flag Day Tournament – July 4, all day

Format: 9 holes of individual stroke play using 100% of player’s handicap. When player has reached their allotted stroke total he/she places their flag in the ground. Flag farthest along the course wins (ex: a player with a 9-hole handicap of 10 is allowed to make 45 (par 35 + 10) strokes before he places his flag in the turf).

$10.00 entry fee.

 

Men’s Eggemoggin Cup (at Blue Hill C.C.) – July 22

Time: 9:00 AM tee time, played at alternating courses.

Field: 12 players from Castine, 12 players from Blue Hill, 12 players from Deer Isle.
Format: 12 players represent each club in a competition vs other area clubs.

$25.00 entry fee, includes lunch.

First 12 players to sign up play.

 

Ladies Tri-Club Tournament (at Blue Hill C.C.) – July 14

Time: 9:00 AM tee time, played at alternating courses.

Field: 12 players from Castine, 12 players from Blue Hill, 12 players from Deer Isle.
Format: 12 players represent each club in a competition vs. other area clubs.

$25.00 entry fee, includes lunch.

First 12 players to sign up play.

 

Junior Club Championship – August 4

Time: 4:00 PM tee time.

Number of holes and tee location are determined by age.

$20.00 entry fee.

 

Men’s Club Championships – July 28 -29

Time: 7:30 AM tee times.

Format: 36-hole individual stroke play. 18 holes on Saturday, 18 holes on Sunday. Gross and Net divisions. Lowest total score wins.

$20.00 entry fee.

 

Women’s Club Championships – July 28-29

Time: 8:30 tee times.

Format: 36-hole individual stroke play. 18 holes on Saturday, 18 holes on Sunday (9-holes both days for the Ladies Net). Gross and Net divisions. Lowest total score wins.

$20.00 entry fee.

 

Men’s Hubbard Cup – August 1 – August 31

Time: matches are scheduled accordingly throughout the month.

Format: individual match play using each player’s handicap. The player who is victorious will move on to the next round until all matches have been played.

$20 entry fee

 

Women’s Rogers Cup – August 1 – August 31

Time: matches are scheduled accordingly throughout the month.

Format: individual match play using each player’s handicap. The player who is victorious will move on to the next round until all matches have been played.

$20.00 entry fee.

 

Parent/Child Tournament – August 1 – 31

Format: selected drive, alternate shot.

Entry fee: $20.00

 

Member/Member – Member/Guest – August 7

Time: 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM tee times.

Limited to 40 players.

Format: mixed golf – Chapman format: Two players play as partners, each playing from the teeing ground and each playing the partner’s ball for the second shot. After the second shot, partners select the ball with which they wish to score, and play that ball alternately to complete the hole.

Entry fee: $85.00 per player, includes dinner.

Dinner in the clubhouse: cocktails at 6:00 PM, prizes at 6:30 PM, dinner at 7:00 PM.

Prizes: gross and net for all divisions.

 

Battle of the Sexes – August 4th

Format: individual medal play by handicap, men vs women.

Entry fee: $5.00 per person.

 

Superintendent’s Revenge – August 13

Format: Scramble.

Entry fee: $35.00

 

Castine Ryder Cup – September 1

Format: Team Greens vs Team Golf, individual match play by handicap.

Entry fee: $10.00 per person.

 

FLOG – September 4

Time: 9:00 AM shotgun.
Format: playing the course backwards, selected drive, alternate shots.

$10.00 per person entry fee.

Winning team hosts the after party the following year.
